Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC), 42-15 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Watauga upgrades its record to 13-1 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 15-0. Alexander Central won 45-25 in their recent league bout against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC)

Next up, the Spartans play the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 6. South Caldwell will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record.
