Staunton Storm (Staunton, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Stuarts Draft Cougars (Stuarts Draft, VA), 44-28 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Staunton upgrades its record to 13-2 on the season. The Storm travel to Wilson Memorial (Fishersville, VA) to play the Green Hornets in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Green Hornets go into the bout with a record of 9-6. Wilson Memorial won 29-25 in their recent non-league bout against Buffalo Gap (Swoope, VA)

Next up, the Cougars play the Monticello Mustangs (Charlottesville, VA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 5. Stuarts Draft will attempt to upgrade on its 5-13 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 10-4 record after their 47-26 non-league win over Albemarle (Charlottesville, VA).
