The Athens Hornets soccer team scored 10 points and limited the host Cumberland Academy Knights to 1 in the Hornets league victory on Friday.

Next, the Hornets face the Van Vandals (Van, TX) in a 4A Region 2 District 14 contest, on Tuesday, February 6. Athens will attempt to better on its 10-2 season record. The Vandals enter the contest with a 3-11 record after their 5-2 league loss to Lindale (Lindale, TX).

The Knights now have a 2-8 record. They take the field next when they host Bullard for a 4A Region 2 District 14 contest on Friday, February 9.
