Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA) and the host Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA), saw Fort Chiswell's basketball squad knock off Giles by a tally of 48-37.

With the victory, Fort Chiswell improves its record to 16-3 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Grayson County (Independence, VA) to play the Blue Devils in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Blue Devils come into the challenge with a record of 4-12. Grayson County lost 39-30 in their recent non-league challenge against Galax (Galax, VA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 5. Giles will attempt to improve on its 13-5 season record.
