Fans at Friday's league challenge between the North Edgecombe Warriors (Tarboro, NC) and the host Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars (Rocky Mount, NC), saw North Edgecombe's basketball squad hold off Rocky Mount Prep by a count of 59-54.

With the victory, North Edgecombe upgrades its record to 2-14 on the campaign. The Warriors host Washington County (Plymouth, NC) to play the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 3. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 7-4. Washington County lost 48-43 in their recent league challenge against Martin County (Williamston, NC)

Next up, the Jaguars play the Northwest Halifax Vikings (Littleton, NC) in a challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Rocky Mount Prep will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 4-12 record after their 71-40 league loss to Wilson Prep (Wilson, NC).
