Wisconsin High School Basketball - Madison East can't hold off Vel Phillips Memorial

The Vel Phillips Memorial Spartans basketball team scored 72 points and held the visiting Madison East Purgolders to 66 in the Spartans league triumph on Tuesday.
The Spartans now sport a 11-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Muskego for a non-league contest on Friday, March 1. Vel Phillips Memorial will battle a Warriors team coming off a 53-43 league win over Waukesha West (Waukesha, WI). The Warriors record now stands at 19-5.
The Purgolders (11-11) will now prepare for their contest against Middleton (Middleton, WI). The Cardinals enter the Big Eight contest with a 13-10 record. In their last contest, Middleton nudged Janesville Parker (Janesville, WI), 65-57, in a league contest.
