North Carolina High School Basketball - Alexander Central edges Freedom

The Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) basketball nipped the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), 53-46 in Tuesday's league test.

The Cougars (20-5) will now prepare for their test against Watauga (Boone, NC). The Pioneers go into the 3A/4A Northwestern test with a 19-5 record. In their last test, Watauga was tipped by Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 62-59, in a league test.

The Patriots now own a 12-12 record.
