Gibbs Gladiators (St. Petersburg, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Lakewood Spartans (St. Petersburg, FL), 20-9 in a league challenge.

The Gladiators now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bishop McLaughlin Catholic for a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 22.

With the loss, Lakewood falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Dunedin (Dunedin, FL) to battle the Falcons in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 23.
