In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Aniak Halfbreeds basketball team scored a good 72-56 triumph over the Kalskag Grizzly Bears.
The Halfbreeds (7-5) will now prepare for their contest against Akiak (Akiak, AK). The Thunderbolts go into the 1A Greater Kuskokwim contest with a 12-4 record. In their last contest, Akiak was toppled by Non Varsity Opponent (, ), 34-21, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Grizzly Bears confront the Akiak Thunderbolts (Akiak, AK) in a 1A Greater Kuskokwim contest, on Friday, February 21. Kalskag will attempt to better on its 3-7 season record. The Thunderbolts go into the contest with a 12-3 record after their 60-58 league win over Akiachak (Akiachak, AK).
