The Newberry Indians basketball team scored 42 points and limited the host Manistique Emeralds to 37 in the Indians non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Indians now have a 11-8 record. They play next when they host Pickford for a Eastern Upper Peninsula game on Friday, February 21. Newberry will confront a Panthers team coming off a 56-14 non-league win over Mackinac Island (Mackinac Island, MI). The Panthers record now stands at 11-8.

With the loss, Manistique falls to 2-16 on the campaign. The Emeralds host Negaunee (Negaunee, MI) to confront the Miners in a Western Peninsula game on Tuesday, February 25. The Miners go into the game with a record of 19-0. Negaunee won 48-22 in their recent non-league game against Marquette (Marquette, MI)
