Colmesneil Bulldogs (Colmesneil, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Sabine Pass Sharks (Sabine Pass, TX), 12-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Burkeville for a 2A Region III District 23 challenge on Tuesday, March 14.

With the loss, Sabine Pass falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Sharks travel to West Orange-Stark (Orange, TX) to face the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 28. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. West Orange-Stark lost 8-6 in their recent non-league challenge against West Hardin (Saratoga, TX)
