Putnam Kingsmen (Milwaukie, OR) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Canby Cougars (Canby, OR), 64-62 in a league bout.

With the victory, Putnam upgrades its record to 18-4 on the campaign. The Kingsmen host Centennial (Gresham, OR) to play the Eagles in a 5A Northwest Oregon bout on Friday, February 23. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 14-9. Centennial won 59-57 in their recent league bout against Parkrose (Portland, OR)

Next up, the Cougars play the Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts Mustangs (Milwaukie, OR) in a 5A Northwest Oregon bout, on Friday, February 23. Canby will attempt to upgrade on its 11-11 season record. The Mustangs come into the game with a 5-18 record after their 79-67 league win over Hillsboro (Hillsboro, OR).
