Canby Cougars (Canby, OR) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Putnam Kingsmen (Milwaukie, OR), 50-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Canby upgrades its record to 17-8 on the season. The Cougars host Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts (Milwaukie, OR) to play the Mustangs in a 5A Northwest Oregon bout on Friday, February 23. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 2-20. Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts lost 63-22 in their recent league game against Hillsboro (Hillsboro, OR)

With the defeat, Putnam moves to 16-9 on the year. The Kingsmen travel to Hood River Valley (Hood River, OR) to face the Eagles in a 5A Northwest Oregon game on Monday, February 26. The Eagles enter the game with a record of 8-12.
