Fans at Friday's league battle between the Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) and the visiting Lubbock Westerners (Lubbock, TX), saw Monterey's soccer squad triumph over Lubbock by a count of 8-0.

The Plainsmen (13-0) will now prepare for their battle against Caprock (Amarillo, TX). The Longhorns enter the 5A Region 1 District 3 battle with a 12-2 record. In their last battle, Caprock notched a victory over Tascosa (Amarillo, TX), 1-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Westerners battle the Tascosa Rebels (Amarillo, TX) in a 5A Region 1 District 3 battle, on Saturday, February 22. Lubbock will attempt to upgrade on its 1-10 season record. The Rebels enter the battle with a 9-4 record after their 1-0 league loss to Caprock (Amarillo, TX).
