Bishop Ward Cyclones (Kansas City, KS) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Maranatha Christian Academy Eagles (Shawnee, KS), 72-64 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Bishop Ward upgrades its record to 12-7 on the campaign.

Next up, the Eagles play the Central Heights Vikings (Richmond, KS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 27. Maranatha Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 9-11 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 11-9 record after their 55-8 non-league win over Southern Coffey County (LeRoy, KS).
