Magdalena Steers (Magdalena, NM) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Cliff Cowboys/Cowgirls (Cliff, NM), 66-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Magdalena upgrades its record to 24-1 on the season. The Steers travel to Quemado (Quemado, NM) to clash with the Eagles in a A District 2 bout on Saturday, February 24. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 15-10. Quemado lost 66-44 in their recent non-league bout against Alamo Navajo (Magdalena, NM)

Next up, the Cowboys/Cowgirls clash with the Reserve Mountaineers (Reserve, NM) in a A District 2 bout, on Saturday, February 24. Cliff will attempt to upgrade on its 20-3 season record. The Mountaineers go into the bout with a 4-20 record after their 59-35 league loss to Mesilla Valley Christian School (Las Cruces, NM).
