In Thursday's league match, the visiting Mesa Vista Trojans basketball team scored a decisive 70-40 triumph over the Penasco Panthers.
In their next game, the Trojans meet the Mora Rangers/Rangerettes (Mora, NM) in a 2A District 5 match, on Saturday, February 24. Mesa Vista will attempt to better on its 19-5 season record. The Rangers/Rangerettes enter the match with a 12-12 record after their 48-40 league loss to Escalante (Tierra Amarilla, NM).
With the defeat, Penasco moves to 6-18 on the year. The Panthers travel to Questa (Questa, NM) to meet the Wildcats in a 2A District 5 match on Saturday, February 24. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 3-21. Questa lost 61-39 in their recent league match against McCurdy (Espanola, NM)
