The Poplarville Hornets softball team scored 10 runs and limited the host Picayune Maroon Tide to 3 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Poplarville moves its record to 1-2 on the year. The Hornets host Hancock (Kiln, MS) to clash with the Hawks in a non-league game on Friday, February 23. The Hawks come into the game with a record of 2-1. Hancock won 4-3 in their recent non-league game against East Central (Moss Point, MS)

In their next game, the Maroon Tide clash with the Pass Christian Pirates (Pass Christian, MS) in a non-league game, on Saturday, February 24. Picayune will attempt to move on its 0-3 season record. The Pirates come into the game with a 0-2 record after their 4-3 non-league loss to Long Beach (Long Beach, MS).
