The Lamesa Tornadoes edged the visiting Alpine Bucks softball squad by a count of 5-4 in Saturday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Tornadoes meet the Compass Academy (Odessa, TX) in a 3A Region I District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, February 25. Lamesa will attempt to upgrade on its 2-0 season record.
The Bucks (3-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Fort Stockton (Fort Stockton, TX). The Panthers enter the non-league challenge with a 9-5 record. In their last challenge, Fort Stockton edged Americas (El Paso, TX), 8-3, in a non-league challenge.
