Clarkdale Bulldogs (Meridian, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS), 2-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, Clarkdale upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Bulldogs host Union (Union, MS) to battle the Yellowjackets in a 3A Region 5 test on Tuesday, March 21. The Yellowjackets come into the test with a record of 1-6.

With the defeat, Newton County falls to 2-3 on the season. The Cougars host Lake (Lake, MS) to battle the Hornets in a non-league test on Saturday, February 25. The Hornets come into the test with a record of 1-2. Lake lost 9-4 in their recent non-league test against Sebastopol (Sebastopol, MS)
