Pine River-Backus Tigers (Pine River, MN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Red Lake Warriors (Red Lake, MN), 68-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Pine River-Backus upgrades its record to 15-7 on the season. The Tigers travel to Nevis (Nevis, MN) to play the Tigers in a A Section 5 bout on Tuesday, February 28. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 18-6. Nevis won 93-24 in their recent league bout against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley (Walker, MN)

Next up, the Warriors play the Badger/Greenbush-Middle River Gators (Badger, MN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 28. Red Lake will attempt to upgrade on its 15-10 season record. The Gators go into the bout with a 2-20 record after their 69-64 league loss to Lake of the Woods (Baudette, MN).
