Chugiak Mustangs (Chugiak, AK) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Bettye Davis East Anchorage Thunderbirds (Anchorage, AK), 49-24 in a league bout.

With the victory, Chugiak upgrades its record to 10-7 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Service (Anchorage, AK) to play the Cougars in a 4A Cook Inlet bout on Monday, February 27. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 2-14. Service lost 69-16 in their recent league bout against West Anchorage (Anchorage, AK)

Next up, the Thunderbirds play the Dimond Lynx (Anchorage, AK) in a 4A Cook Inlet bout, on Tuesday, February 28. Bettye Davis East Anchorage will attempt to upgrade on its 2-14 season record. The Lynx come into the bout with a 15-5 record after their 44-24 league win over Bartlett (Anchorage, AK).
