Northeast Jones Tigers (Laurel, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Raleigh Lions (Raleigh, MS), 13-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Quitman for a 4A Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, February 27. Northeast Jones will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 8-7 non-league loss to Meridian (Meridian, MS). The Panthers record now stands at 0-3.

With the loss, Raleigh falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The Lions host Mize (Mize, MS) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 27. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Mize won 20-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Taylorsville (Taylorsville, MS)
