In Monday's league contest, the host Walker Valley Mustangs basketball team scored a good 80-61 triumph over the McMinn County Cherokees.
The Mustangs (6-24) will now prepare for their contest against Ooltewah (Ooltewah, TN). The Owls go into the non-league contest with a 15-16 record. In their last contest, Ooltewah was topped by Bradley Central (Cleveland, TN), 93-20, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Cherokees battle the Bradley Central Bears (Cleveland, TN) in a non-league contest, on Friday, February 28. McMinn County will attempt to better on its 6-21 season record. The Bears go into the contest with a 28-1 record after their 93-20 non-league win over Ooltewah (Ooltewah, TN).
