The La Vega Pirates triumphed over the host Waco Lions baseball squad by a margin of 14-1 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Pirates now hold a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dawson for a non-league test on Saturday, February 28. La Vega will play a Bulldogs team coming off a 15-1 non-league win over Bruceville-Eddy (Eddy, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-1.

With the defeat, Waco drops to 0-4 on the year. The Lions host Mansfield Timberview (Arlington, TX) to play the Wolves in a non-league outing on Thursday, March 5. The Wolves come into the outing with a record of 4-5. Mansfield Timberview lost 9-3 in their recent non-league outing against Lake Dallas (Corinth, TX)
