In Saturday's non-league match, the host Nitro Wildcats basketball team scored a tight 57-53 triumph over the George Washington Patriots.

In their next game, the Wildcats face the Winfield Generals (Winfield, WV) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, February 28. Nitro will attempt to move on its 11-12 season record. The Generals enter the match with a 13-9 record after their 61-59 league loss to Hoover (Clendenin, WV).
