Texas High School Softball - Edinburg North nudges Nixon

February 25, 2023: Laredo, TX 78043

Edinburg North Cougars (Edinburg, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 6-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Alexander for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 28. Edinburg North will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 9-4 non-league win over Crystal City (Crystal City, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-6.

With the loss, Nixon falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Martin (Laredo, TX) to face the Tigers in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge on Tuesday, February 28. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Martin lost 10-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Edinburg (Edinburg, TX)
