Hays Hawks (Buda, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lake Travis Cavaliers (Austin, TX), 7-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to San Marcos for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 28. Hays will battle a Rattlers squad coming off a 7-3 non-league win over Westlake (Austin, TX). The Rattlers record now stands at 3-6.

With the loss, Lake Travis falls to 6-8 on the campaign. The Cavaliers host Hendrickson (Pflugerville, TX) to battle the Hawks in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 25. The Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 2-7. Hendrickson lost 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Judson (Converse, TX)
