Magnolia West Mustangs (Magnolia, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Livingston Lions (Livingston, TX), 7-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 9-4 record. They take the field next when they host A&M Consolidated for a 5A Region III District 21 challenge on Tuesday, February 28. Magnolia West will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 10-8 non-league loss to China Spring (China Spring, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 4-2.

With the loss, Livingston falls to 3-6 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Little Cypress-Mauriceville (Orange, TX) to battle the Bears in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 2. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 8-3. Little Cypress-Mauriceville won 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Deweyville (Deweyville, TX)
