The Greenville Hornets baseball team scored 12 runs and held the visiting Riverside Bulldogs to 3 in the Hornets non-league win on Tuesday.
The Hornets now hold a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Clarksdale for a non-league test on Friday, February 28. Greenville will play a Wildcats team coming off a 19-2 non-league loss to South Panola (Batesville, MS). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-2.
With the defeat, Riverside drops to 2-1 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to Humphreys County (Belzoni, MS) to play the Cowboys in a non-league test on Wednesday, February 26. The Cowboys go into the test with a record of 0-3. Humphreys County lost 14-1 in their recent non-league test against Manchester Academy (Yazoo City, MS)
