Kansas High School Basketball - South can't hold off Derby

Derby Panthers (Derby, KS) boosters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host South Cougars (Salina, KS), 54-50 in a league match.

With the victory, Derby upgrades its record to 16-3 on the year. The Panthers host Maize (Maize, KS) to face the Eagles in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I match on Thursday, February 27. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 5-13. Maize lost 43-34 in their recent league challenge against Hutchinson (Hutchinson, KS)

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Hutchinson Salthawks (Hutchinson, KS) in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I challenge, on Friday, February 28. South will attempt to better on its 10-9 season record. The Salthawks come into the challenge with a 13-5 record after their 43-34 league win over Maize (Maize, KS).
