The Mt. Vernon Rams basketball team scored 47 points and limited the visiting Effingham Hearts to 38 in the Rams non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Rams now possess a 28-3 record. They play next when they travel to Marion for a non-league game on Thursday, February 27. Mt. Vernon will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 59-56 non-league win over Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 21-8.

With the loss, Effingham falls to 25-8 on the campaign.
