Fans at Tuesday's league battle between the Poteet Pirates (Mesquite, TX) and the visiting North Mesquite Stallions (Mesquite, TX), saw Poteet's soccer squad hold off North Mesquite by a count of 4-3.

The Pirates (12-2) will now prepare for their battle against Samuell (Dallas, TX). The Spartans enter the 5A Region 2 District 14 battle with a 1-10 record. In their last battle, Samuell was edged by Wilson (Dallas, TX), 3-2, in a league battle.

Next up, the Stallions battle the Adams Cougars (Dallas, TX) in a 5A Region 2 District 14 battle, on Friday, February 28. North Mesquite will attempt to upgrade on its 12-4 season record. The Cougars enter the battle with a 11-3 record after their 4-2 league win over Seagoville (Dallas, TX).
