The Strayhorn Mustangs softball team scored 20 runs and held the visiting Independence Wildcats to 12 in the Mustangs non-league win on Tuesday.

The Mustangs now possess a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lake Cormorant for a non-league battle on Wednesday, February 26. Strayhorn will confront a team coming off a 14-1 non-league win over Horn Lake (Horn Lake, MS). The record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Independence moves to 1-2 on the season. The Wildcats host Grenada (Grenada, MS) to confront the Chargers in a non-league battle on Thursday, February 27. The Chargers come into the battle with a record of 1-1. Grenada lost 10-1 in their recent non-league battle against DeSoto Central (Southaven, MS)
