The Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes (Pojoaque, NM) basketball nipped the visiting Los Alamos Hilltoppers (Los Alamos, NM), 47-44 in Monday's league test.
The Hilltoppers now own a 15-12 record. They play next when they host Espanola Valley for a 4A District 2 test on Thursday, February 29. Los Alamos will encounter a Sundevils squad coming off a 51-32 league win over Taos (Taos, NM). The Sundevils record now stands at 15-12.
Game Summary
1st quarter Los Alamos came out strong with a quick score but Pojoaque did not let up they continue to fight ending the half with a score of 15 to 19 Los Alamos held lead. in the 3rd Quarter both teams exchanged basket for basket ending the third with a score of 32 All. The fourth it was a tough fought battle by both teams but Jasmine Valdez took over leading an 8-0 run ending the game with 15 points and give Pojoaque Elks the win.
