East Central Hornets (Moss Point, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Bryant Hurricanes (Irvington, AL), 8-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they host St. Martin for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, February 28. East Central will battle a Yellow Jackets squad coming off a 13-7 non-league win over West Harrison (Gulfport, MS). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, Bryant falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Hurricanes host Foley (Foley, AL) to battle the Lions in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 27. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 2-0.
