Northeast Hurricanes (Oakland Park, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Everglades Gators (Miramar, FL), 16-11 in a non-league challenge.

The Hurricanes now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Monarch for a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 29. Northeast will face a Knights squad coming off a 9-3 league win over Fort Lauderdale (Fort Lauderdale, FL). The Knights record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, Everglades falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Gators host Plantation (Plantation, FL) to face the Colonels in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 4. The Colonels enter the challenge with a record of 0-2.
