The Melrose Dutchmen basketball team scored 69 points and held the visiting Minnewaska Area Lakers to 51 in the Dutchmen non-league triumph on Monday.

The Dutchmen now sport a 13-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Litchfield for a non-league contest on Tuesday, February 28. Melrose will meet a Dragons team coming off a 55-40 league loss to New London-Spicer (New London, MN). The Dragons record now stands at 8-17.

The Lakers (1-23) will now prepare for their contest against Osakis (Osakis, MN). The Silverstreaks enter the non-league contest with a 18-4 record. In their last contest, Osakis was defeated by Sauk Centre (Sauk Centre, MN), 70-67, in a league contest.
