Negaunee Miners (Negaunee, MI) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Westwood Patriots (Ishpeming, MI), 45-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Negaunee upgrades its record to 19-4 on the season. The Miners host Calumet (Calumet, MI) to play the Copper Kings in a non-league bout on Wednesday, March 1. The Copper Kings go into the bout with a record of 16-4. Calumet won 46-22 in their recent non-league bout against Jeffers (Painesdale, MI)
