North Carolina High School Baseball - Union Pines nips Gray's Creek

Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Gray's Creek Bears (Hope Mills, NC), 3-2 in a non-league test.

With the win, Union Pines upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Vikings travel to Lee County (Sanford, NC) to battle the Yellow Jackets in a Sandhills 3A/4A test on Tuesday, March 5. The Yellow Jackets come into the test with a record of 1-0.

With the defeat, Gray's Creek falls to 0-2 on the season. The Bears host Purnell Swett (Pembroke, NC) to battle the Rams in a United Eight 3A/4A test on Tuesday, March 5. The Rams come into the test with a record of 1-1. Purnell Swett lost 3-1 in their recent non-league test against Scotland (Laurinburg, NC)
