The Vela Sabercats softball team scored 11 runs and limited the host McAllen Memorial Mustangs to 7 in the Sabercats league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Vela improves its record to 6-9 on the year. The Sabercats travel to Sharyland (Mission, TX) to clash with the Rattlers in a 5A Region IV District 31 game on Friday, March 1. The Rattlers come into the game with a record of 4-2. Sharyland won 11-7 in their recent non-league game against La Feria (La Feria, TX)

In their next game, the Mustangs clash with the McAllen Bulldogs (McAllen, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 31 game, on Friday, March 1. McAllen Memorial will attempt to improve on its 0-3 season record. The Bulldogs come into the game with a 5-2 record after their 9-2 league loss to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX).
