The Porter Cowboys softball team (Brownsville, TX), was routed 16-5 in Tuesday's league test with the host Mercedes Tigers (Mercedes, TX)

Coming up next, the Tigers encounter the Lopez Lobos (Brownsville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 test, on Friday, March 1. Mercedes will attempt to improve on its 6-4 season record. The Lobos come into the test with a 10-0 record after their 14-0 league win over Veterans Memorial (Brownsville, TX).

The Cowboys (2-6) will now prepare for their test against Pace (Brownsville, TX). The Vikings come into the 5A Region IV District 32 test with a 2-3 record. In their last test, Pace overcame Economedes (Edinburg, TX), 5-2, in a non-league test.
