In Thursday's non-league game, the visiting West Laurens Raiders baseball team scored a close 8-5 win over the Appling County Pirates.

The Raiders (6-2) will now prepare for their game against Hephzibah (Hephzibah, GA). The Rebels go into the 3A Area 4 game with a 2-5 record. In their last game, Hephzibah by West Laurens (Dexter, GA), 20-0, in a league game.

Next, the Pirates play the Ware County Gators (Waycross, GA) in a non-league game, on Friday, February 28. Appling County will attempt to improve on its 4-5 season record. The Gators go into the game with a 7-1 record after their 8-2 non-league loss to Colquitt County (Norman Park, GA).
