The Progreso Red Ants baseball team scored 9 runs and held the host Santa Rosa Warriors to 8 in the Red Ants non-league win on Thursday.

The Red Ants now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mercedes for a non-league test on Friday, February 28. Progreso will clash with a Tigers team coming off a 7-2 league loss to Donna (Donna, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 0-4.

With the defeat, Santa Rosa drops to 0-2 on the year. The Warriors host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX) to clash with the Raiders in a non-league match on Monday, March 3. The Raiders come into the match with a record of 10-1. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North won 11-0 in their recent non-league match against Lytle (Lytle, TX)
