East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) backers exited the stadium pleased Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC), 8-3 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, East Wilkes advances its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Statesville (Statesville, NC) to clash with the Greyhounds in a non-league test on Friday, February 28. The Greyhounds come into the test with a record of 0-0.

The Blackhawks now have a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ashe County for a non-league test on Tuesday, March 4.
