Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS) supporters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad topple the visiting Columbus Falcons (Columbus, MS), 15-0 in a non-league game.
With the triumph, Meridian improves its record to 1-1 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Sacred Heart (Hattiesburg, MS) to face the Crusaders in a non-league game on Friday, February 28. The Crusaders enter the game with a record of 4-0.
The Falcons now hold a 0-3 record. They play next when they host Neshoba Central for a 6A Region 2 game on Friday, February 28. Columbus will face a Rockets squad coming off a 4-3 non-league loss to South Jones (Ellisville, MS). The Rockets record now stands at 0-1.
