The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Starkville Yellowjackets (Starkville, MS) and the host Noxapater Tigers (Noxapater, MS), observed Starkville's softball team notch a victory over Noxapater by a final score of 16-3.

The Yellowjackets (2-2) will now prepare for their bout against Houston (Houston, MS). The Hilltoppers go into the non-league bout with a 4-3 record. In their last bout, Houston gained a win over Vardaman (Vardaman, MS), 3-1, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Tigers battle the French Camp Academy Panthers (French Camp, MS) in a 1A Region 6 bout, on Tuesday, March 4. Noxapater will attempt to better on its 0-4 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 17-2 non-league loss to Eupora (Eupora, MS).
