West Carteret Patriots (Morehead City, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Havelock Rams (Havelock, NC), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Washington for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 4. West Carteret will battle a Pam Pack squad coming off a 13-1 non-league win over Holmes (Edenton, NC). The Pam Pack record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Havelock falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Rams host East Carteret (Beaufort, NC) to battle the Mariners in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 4. The Mariners enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. East Carteret lost 2-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Swansboro (Swansboro, NC)
