South Effingham Mustangs (Guyton, GA) fans were pleased Tuesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Effingham County Rebels (Springfield, GA), 1-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Mustangs confront the Lakeside Panthers (Evans, GA) in a 6A Area 2 challenge, on Friday, March 3. South Effingham will attempt to better on its 6-0 season record. The Panthers enter the challenge with a 3-4 record after their 2-1 league loss to Grovetown (Grovetown, GA).

The Rebels now have a 3-3 record. They take the field next when they host Hebron Christian Academy for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. Effingham County will confront a Lions team coming off a 5-0 non-league win over Calvary Day (Savannah, GA). The Lions record now stands at 5-1.
