The Cape Fear Colts the visiting Clayton Comets softball squad by a final score of 5-1 in Tuesday's non-league battle.

The Colts (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Union Pines (Cameron, NC). The Vikings go into the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Union Pines was routed by Gray's Creek (Hope Mills, NC), 13-11, in a non-league battle.

The Comets now possess a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to South Johnston for a non-league battle on Wednesday, March 1. Clayton will meet a Trojans squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Midway (Dunn, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 0-1.
